Stick scale information can be entered as part of the ticket, or imported from a handheld data collector. The system provides for two methods of entering stick scale information as part of the ticket. The first method is to enter the length and diameter and let the system calculate the volume. The second method is to directly enter the volume. It is recommended that you use the second method when manually entering stick scale data.
To enter stick scale information, you should click on the stick scale tab, after entering the unit of measure in the ticket header.
Stick Scale Maintenance
To add a stick scale record, click on the Add button, press “Alt A”, or press the Insert key.
To edit an existing stick scale record, highlight the record and press Enter, click on the Edit button, press “Alt E”.
To delete an existing stick scale record, highlight the record and click on the Delete button, or press “Alt D”.
During the add or edit of stick scale information, the system will display the Stick Scale window as follows:
Enter information on the Stick Scale window according to the following specifications:
Product
Enter the product. To display a selection list of the valid products, press Enter, or click on the Lookup button. After entering the first stick scale record, the system defaults to the previously entered product.
Length
If applicable, enter the length for the product being stick scaled. If an invalid length is entered, the system will display a selection list of the valid lengths defined in the volume table. After entering the first stick scale record, the system defaults to the previously entered length.
Diameter
If applicable, enter the diameter for the product being stick scaled. If an invalid diameter is entered, the system will display a selection list of the valid diameters defined in the volume table.
Logs
If applicable, enter the number of logs for the product being stick scaled.
Volume
If applicable, enter the stick scale volume for the product. If the length and diameter is entered, the system automatically calculates the volume based on the stick scale table assigned to the product.
Cull Code
If applicable, enter the product cull code. To display a selection list of the valid cull codes, click on the Lookup button. An entry in this field is optional.
Cull Volume
If applicable, enter the cull volume for the stick scale product. An entry in this field is required if a cull code was entered.
In Inventory
If applicable, enter the inventory where the product will be stored. To display a selection list of the valid inventories, click on the Lookup button.
Out Inventory
If applicable, enter the inventory from which the product will be shipped. To display a selection list of the valid inventories, click on the Lookup button.
To save and exit the Stick Scale window, press Page Down, click on the OK button, or press “Alt O”. To exit without saving the Stick Scale window, click on the Cancel button, press “Alt C”, press Esc, or click on the “X” in the upper right corner of the screen.
