Enter up to a thirty five-character description for the group.

System Applications

To select an application for access, place a check in the Application box.  To place a check in the Application box, click on the Application box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the “Application” field.  The application must be selected for the group to have access to any options within the application.  If the group has access to all menu items in the application no further selections are required.  However, if the group has access to certain menu items within the application, those menu items must be setup in the Menu Item Assignments window.  Selected menu items can either be granting access or restricting access.  You should choose the method that would require the least amount of setup.

Menu Item Assignments

If the Menu Items Assignment box is checked, the security group is restricted to the menu items listed.  To place a check in the Menu Item Assignments box, click on the Menu Item Assignments box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the “Menu Item Assignments” field.  If the Menu Items Assignment box is unchecked, the security group has access to menu items listed.

To save and exit the Security Group window, press Page Down, click on the OK button, or press “Alt O”.   To exit without saving the Security Group window, click on the Cancel button, press “Alt C”, press Esc, or click on the “X” in the upper right corner of the screen.

To access online help, click on the Help button, press “Alt H”, or press F1.

Adding Menu Items

To add menu items, the system administrator should select the application from the Forest Products Accounting Main Menu.  Select the menu item that you want either to allow access or restrict access, and press <Control F12> and add the security group.   You must perform this step for each menu item that you are adding to the list.  The Menu Item Assignment window is shown below.

Enter or edit the information on the Menu Item Assignment window according the following specifications:

Security Group

Enter the Security Group that you want to assign the menu item.  In the above example, we are adding a security group to the Enter Tickets option.  To display a selection list of the valid Security Groups, press Enter, or click on the Lookup button.

To save and exit the Menu Item Assignment window, press Enter, click on the Add to Security button, or press “Alt A”.   To exit without saving the Menu Item Assignment window, click on the Cancel button, press “Alt C”, press Esc, or click on the “X” in the upper right corner of the screen.
