Users

To access the Users window, select the menu option entitled Users on the Security Menu.  

 

The User List window will be displayed as follows:

 

The system defaults to displaying only the active Users.  To display the inactive, or both the active and inactive Users, click on the drop-down box arrow located at the upper right corner of the window.

 

Cycle Box

To remain in the add mode without returning to the User List window each time you add a new User, check the cycle box.  To place a check in the box, click on the Cycle box, press “Alt Y”, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the “cycle” field.  You would normally check the cycle box if you are entering more than one User during the current session.

 

To access online help, click on the Help button, press “Alt H”, or press F1.

 

To exit the User List window, click on Close button, press “Alt O”, or press the Esc key.

 

User Maintenance

To add a new User, click on the Add button, press “Alt A”, or press the Insert key.

 

To edit an existing User, highlight the User and click on the Edit button, press “Alt E”, or press Enter.  

 

When you add a new User, the system will display the User Profile window as follows:

 

General Information Tab

The system defaults to the General Information window whenever you are performing user security maintenance. To access the General Information tab from another window in user security maintenance, click on the General Information tab, or press Alt G.

 

Enter or edit the information on the General Information window according to the following specifications:

 

Code

The code is a five-character field used to identify the User within the system.  The system does not allow the use of duplicate User codes.  

 

Name

Enter the user’s name.  The field allows for thirty-five characters.

 

Password

Enter the user’s password.  The field allows for fifteen characters.

 

NOTE: If you are using Security Groups, you must now exit the user profile window and select the group option and setup the security groups.  When you have setup the security groups, you must return to the user profile window and assign a security group to each user defined in the system.

 

Remote Office – Access All Divisions

You must have checked the Use Divisions as Remote Office? in the Company profile to have access to this field.  Place a check in the box if you want to give the user access to all divisions.  To place a check in the box, click on the Remote Office – Access All Divisions box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the Remote Office – Access All Divisions field.

 

Remote Office – Division Location Code

You must have checked the Use Divisions as Remote Office? in the Company profile to have access to this field.  If applicable, select the Division Location for the user.  To display a selection list of the valid Divisions, press Enter, or click on the Lookup button.

 

Security Administrator?

Select the Security Administrator box if the user is the security administrator for the system.  To select a user as Security Administrator, place a check in the System Administrator box.  To place a check in the box, click on the Security Administrator? box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the “Security Administrator” field.   

 

Security Group

If applicable, select the Security Group for the user.  To display a selection list of the valid Security Groups, press Enter, or click on the Lookup button.  Since the Security Administrator has access to all applications and menu items, you cannot assign a Security Group to the user designated as the Security Administrator.

 

Status

Select the active box if the user is active, or select the inactive box if the user is inactive. The system defaults to displaying only the active users on the selection list.

 

To save and exit the User Profile window, press Page Down, click on the OK button, or press “Alt O”.   To exit without saving the User Profile window, click on the Cancel button, press “Alt C”, press Esc, or click on the “X” in the upper right corner of the screen.

 

To access online help, click on the Help button, press “Alt H”, or press F1.

 

Scale House Tab

The Scale House window contains the controls for user security within the Scale House module.  To access the Scale House tab from another window in user security maintenance, click on the Scale House tab, or press Alt S.

 

The Scale House Tab will be displayed as follows:

 

Enter or edit the information on the General Information window according to the following specifications:

 

Scale Operator

Place a check in this box if the user is going to be a scale operator.  To place a check in the box, click on the Scale Operator box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the scale operator field.

 

Host Operator

Place a check in this box if the user is going to be a host operator.  To place a check in the box, click on the Host Operator box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the host operator field.

 

Allow Access To Weights

Place a check in this box if the user will have access to edit the volume on scale tickets.  To place a check in the box, click on the Allow Access To Weights box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the allow access to weights field.

 

Allow Delete of Tickets (Scale Loads)

Place a check in this box if the user will have access to delete scale tickets.  To place a check in the box, click on the Allow Delete of Tickets (Scale Loads) box, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the allow delete of tickets (scale loads) field.

 

To save and exit the User Profile window, press Page Down, click on the OK button, or press “Alt O”.   To exit without saving the User Profile window, click on the Cancel button, press “Alt C”, press Esc, or click on the “X” in the upper right corner of the screen.

 

To access online help, click on the Help button, press “Alt H”, or press F1.
