Tract Types are used to further classify tracts for reporting and tracking purposes. If the tract type is designated as a timber deed, the system credits the standing timber account instead of the accounts payable account when updating the general ledger file during ticket entry.
Examples of Tract Types are shown below:

To access the Tract Types list window, select the menu option entitled Tract Types on the Fiber Procurement Control Files Menu.
The Tract Types list window, will be displayed as follows:
The system defaults to displaying only the active Tract Types. To display the inactive, or both the active and inactive Tract Types, click on the drop-down box arrow located at the upper right corner of the window.
Cycle Box
To remain in the add mode without returning to the Tract Types list window each time you add a new Tract Types, check the cycle box. To enter a check in the box, click on the Cycle box, press “Alt Y”, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the “cycle” field. You would normally check the cycle box if you are entering more than one Tract Type during the current session.
To access online help, click on the Help button, press “Alt H”, or F1.
To exit the Tract Types list window, click on Close button, press “Alt O”, or press the Esc key.
Tract Types Maintenance
To add a new Tract Type, click on the Add button, press “Alt A”, or press the Insert key.
To edit an existing Tract Type, highlight the Tract Type and click on the Edit button, press “Alt E”, or press Enter.
When you add a new Tract Type, the system will display the Tract Types Information window as follows:
Enter or edit the information on the Tract Types Information window according to the following specifications:
Tract Types Code
The code is a two-character field used to identify the Tract Type within the system. The system does allow the use of duplicate codes.
Tract Types Description
Enter up to thirty-characters to describe the Tract Type.
Timber Deed
Enter a check in the box if the tract type represents a timber deed, bulk purchase, or a lump sum purchase. If the tract type is not a timber deed, bulk purchase, or a lump sum purchase, leave the box unchecked. To enter a check in the box, click on the Timber Deed box, or press “Alt T”, or press the Space Bar when the selection box is positioned over the Timber Deed field.
Status
Select the active box if the Tract Types is active, or select the inactive box if the Tract Types is not active. The system defaults to displaying active Tract Types on the selection list.
To save and exit the Tract Type window, press Page Down, click on the OK button, or press “Alt O”. To exit without saving the Tract Type window, click on the Cancel button, press “Alt C”, press Esc, or click on the “X” in the upper right corner of the screen.
